Remove one strip from the bottle and replace immediately.
Immerse the reagent area of the strip in the urine specimen and take it out quickly.
While removing the strip from the urine, run the edge of the strip against the rim of the urine container to remove excess urine.
Compare the colors of the reagent areas to the corresponding color blocks on the reagent strip vial at the specified times. Hold the strip close to the close to the color blocks in good light and match carefully.
Proper read time is critical for optimal results. Read the glucose test at 30 seconds after dipping. Read the ketone test at 40 seconds after dipping.

Note: Changes in color that appear only along the edges of the test pads are of no diagnostic significance. Disregard them.
